Our First Monday

S+ English

Today in class we had a mini lesson on realistic fiction.  We filled in our charts something like the one below.  If you were absent, make sure you get a chart from the window counter and fill your's in on your own time.  Make sure to have this yellow sheet every day for class since we will be adding to it daily.

We also spent some time talking about good vs bad presentations.  I want you all to be clear on the difference since you will be presenting tomorrow.

We learned about the importance of making connections.  Making connections helps us deepen our understanding, and bring meaning to whatever we are reading and hearing.  The specific types of connections we will be discussing are; text to self, text to text and text to world.

I had you answer and record some information on a scratch sheet of paper, and turn it in to me.  I will be looking over these tonight and giving them back to you before presentations tomorrow.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET YOUR PRESENTATION STUFF!

You will present whatever you have when your name is called.  The only exception is if you have been absent from school.

I gave you a few minutes to review your scripts and we finished up the hour by going over our presentation rubric and viewing three presentations.  Thank you to those of you that volunteered to go today.

We will continue on with presentations tomorrow, so those of you that did not go today will go tomorrow.
